Elite Plus FAQs

Expedia Elite Plus program membership is open by invitation only. To qualify and retain your membership year over year, you must use Expedia.ca to book and complete at least C$10,000 worth of travel or book and stay at least fifteen (15) hotel nights per year.

You will receive a notice via email at the address associated with your Expedia account and a membership kit. Please be sure that your email and mailing addresses are up to date to not miss your notification. Update your email address or update your mailing address.

Once you’ve qualified for membership, you don’t have to do a thing. We’ll enroll you in Elite Plus at absolutely no cost. Just be sure to keep your email and mailing address up to date in your Expedia.ca account.

Elite Plus members will receive special offers and discounts on a regular basis through email or regular mail. Please be sure that your email and mailing addresses are up to date so you don’t miss out.

Your membership expiration date is included on the front of your membership card. To qualify or requalify for each program year, you must use Expedia.ca to book and complete at least C$10,000 worth of travel or book and stay at least fifteen (15) hotel nights per calendar year.

Elite Plus members can track their progress towards retaining their Elite Plus status into the next year via monthly email statements. To receive this email, be sure to keep your email and mailing address up to date in your Expedia.ca account.

If you would like to be removed from the Expedia Elite Plus program, please call Elite Plus priority customer service at 1-800-224-1534 or email us at support@service.expedia.ca and a travel specialist will remove you from the program.

You may use special offers and vouchers that you receive as an Elite Plus member to book travel for others as long as bookings are made through your Expedia.ca account. Travel booked for others on your Expedia.ca account is eligible for Elite Plus benefits and will count toward future Elite Plus qualification. Credit is awarded once travel is completed.

 

VIP Access FAQs

If you live Canada, you should update your address on Expedia.ca and call the Elite Plus Customer Service at 1-800-224-1534 or email support@service.expedia.ca to request a new card.

If you live in Canada you will receive your card within 45 days of the request. If you live abroad, you will receive your card within 60 days of the request. You can get upgraded in the meantime, if an upgrade is available at the hotel at the time you check-in.

If the hotel doesn’t recognize you or the VIP Access program, ask them to call the Elite Plus call center for confirmation at 1-800-224-1534.

An upgrade can be defined as follows:

  • Complimentary change in room category to one of greater value or quality
  • Assignment to a preferred floor (e.g., higher floor)
  • Assignment to a preferred location on a floor (e.g., away from elevators or ice machine)

Some VIP Access hotels offer an additional amenity for Elite Plus guests. These amenities can range from free water bottles to spa credits, and will vary by hotel.

No, Elite Plus members are not eligible for free room upgrades when they book an Expedia Unpublished Rate Hotel that happens to also be a VIP Access hotel. When our brand-names or great hotel partners have unsold rooms, we can offer them at incredible values in order to fill them. However, our hotel partners can only give room upgrades when Elite Plus members book VIP hotels as an Expedia Special Rate hotel.

If you are not sure if your VIP Access hotel qualifies, look for “Expedia Special Rate” under the name of the hotel shown in the hotel search results.
